MV Financial is the culmination of this vision and thirty years of dedicated work.

From its beginning as a small financial planning business, MV Financial has evolved into a full-service asset management firm for high-net worth individuals, family offices, non-profit institutions & endowments, and pension & retirement plan sponsors. Masood has shepherded this growth through his caring, painstaking attention to detail and the personalized approach he employs, which focuses on the specific needs of each individual client. Drawing on three decades of experience and an in-depth understanding of the markets, he has developed and fine-tuned the firm’s flexible investment philosophy and innovative asset management process.

Masood adheres to the ideal of “doing well by doing good” in both his personal and professional life. An active philanthropist, he and his family have created and financed a variety of charitable initiatives, including a relief effort for victims of domestic violence. Masood is a former Chairman of the Parents Campaign Philanthropy Board at George Washington University. He has also been a key fundraiser for various educational initiatives in the DC area.

Masood has been featured on CNBC, The Wall Street Journal and is a contributor to the Investing section of U.S. News & World Report.

Masood holds a B.S. degree with honors in Computer Science & Statistics from American University.

Arian Vojdani

Investment Strategist

As an investment strategist at MV Financial, Arian Vojdani brings his unique perspective on financial markets to the firm. He provides insight to the firm’s advisory and research team to guide strategic investment decisions and direction. Arian sits on MV Financial’s investment committee where he provides recommendations and general oversight.

Arian is also a key member in MV Financial’s advisory team. As an advisor he services and manages client portfolios and builds sustainable financial plans to help clients reach their financial goals. Arian prides himself on offering client’s an impeccable level of service and assuring that they feel content and well-situated for their financial future.

Finally, Arian oversees the strategic direction of the firm’s growth by providing oversight to all of MV Financial’s lines of business.  Arian writes and maintains a blog focused on millennial wealth advice and issues.

Arian has been featured in media such as CNBC’s The Rundown, Bloomberg Radio & CNNMoney.

Arian holds a B.A. degree from George Washington University.

Chris Schaefer, CFP®, CPA/PFS

Head of Retirement Plan Practice

Chris Schaefer leads MV Financial’s Retirement Plan Practice, with over 10 years on the MV Financial team. He oversees all aspects of MVF’s retirement plan management, where his duties include; developing proper plan design, investment strategy and options, participant education and management of client relationships. Chris is also a senior advisor at MVF, where he manages all aspects of his private client relationships. In both capacities, Chris works closely with the firm’s investment management, portfolio operations and client services divisions.

Chris is a key member of MV Financial’s investment committee, participating in asset allocation and investment selection decisions as well as overall strategy formulation. His training and distinctive skillset as a CPA and audit professional adds an invaluable dimension to the financial advice he provides to clients.

Prior to joining MV Financial, Chris spent five years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Audit and Assurance Services group. His specialization was in financial services, with specific expertise in the banking and mortgage banking industries. While there, he also gained experience in investment management, real estate, insurance, and pension plan strategies for large employer plans.

Chris holds a B.S. degree, cum laude, from Loyola University in Maryland, where he was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting) and Beta Gamma Sigma (Business) honor societies. He obtained an Executive Certificate in Financial Planning from Georgetown University in 2003.

Joseph Potosky, CLU, ChFC

Joseph Potosky is a specialist in the construction and management of employer-provided group benefit plans. He has spent nearly two decades helping organizations and their employees obtain the most value from their benefits packages.

As director of pensions and benefits services at MV Financial, Joe works hand-in-hand with organizations developing and optimizing their defined contribution plans, preparing for emergent federal regulations, and educating employees. He believes in empowering employees with a full set of tools for making investment decisions uniquely appropriate to their financial objectives, risk tolerance, and special circumstances.

Joe is sought after for his insights on employee benefit issues, including pension and healthcare reform. He has spoken at the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters, National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors’ Maryland chapter, Nonprofit HR Conference, Goodwill Industries’ National Conference, and DC Health Link. Prior to his career in financial services, Joe worked in accounting and regulatory management for Bell Atlantic Corporation.

Joe graduated with honors from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he obtained both a B.S. degree and an MBA in Business Administration. He also has an M.A. in Telecommunications Policy from George Washington University and a J.D. from the University of Maryland. Joe holds the professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. Additionally, he holds the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) certification from the National Association of Health Underwriters. He is a member of the Maryland Bar Association.

Katrina Lamb, CFA

Head of Investment Strategy & Research

Katrina Lamb’s international investment industry career spans more than 25 years and includes both buy and sell side experience. She specializes in the research, analysis, and evaluation of the capital markets opportunities that inform and shape the firm’s investment approach.

As head of investment strategy and research, Katrina takes the lead in turning in-depth research into innovative, proprietary asset strategies. Katrina is also a core member of the firm’s Investment Committee, where she shapes the discussion and context for decisions around asset allocation and investment selection for client portfolios.

Prior to joining MV Financial in 2005, Katrina lived and worked for a number of years in Vienna, Austria, where she directed a portfolio of private equity investments in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. She has also worked in various financial sector capacities in London, Moscow, Tokyo, Singapore, and Jakarta.

Katrina’s insights and analysis have been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Reuters and many other prominent financial publications.

Katrina holds a B.A. with honors from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a member of the CFA® Institute and a CFA charterholder.

Mark has a background in private client wealth management, which he applies to the broad range of specialist planning and analytical functions he fulfills at MV Financial. He is also a member of the firm’s investment committee.

Prior to joining MV Financial, Mark worked in the Private Client Services group at Arthur Andersen. During this time, he gained valuable experience assisting high-net-worth clients in the areas of investment management, financial planning, and tax planning and preparation. Mark has been a part of the MV Financial team since 2002.

Mark holds a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech University.

Courtney Martin

Courtney earned a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of Maryland, College Park and an MBA with a concentration in finance from University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Anabel Quintero

Development Director

In 1995, Anabel Quintero joined MV Financial and began her career in the financial services industry. Since then, she has served in a variety of capacities supporting the management of client investment objectives and risk tolerance. Leveraging nearly 20 years of experience and a broad range of skill sets, she focuses on developing and sustaining relationships with MV Financial prospects and clients. Anabel has an intuitive grasp of how to match the needs of individual and institutional investors with the firm’s in-house asset management capabilities.

Anabel is fluent in Spanish, and an active participant in multiple bilingual organizations in the metropolitan Washington DC area. Since 2010, she has served as Secretary and sat on the board of the Uruguayan-American Foundation. Anabel is also involved with Team Network as a team captain and group founder. She is a member of the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Greater Bethesda Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce, Business Owner Network, Catholic Business Network and BCC Rotary Club.

Anabel holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland, where she was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, an economics honor society.

Andrea Kessler

Development Director

Andrea Kessler joined MV Financial in February 2017 with twenty years of experience in business development for firms specialized in group health, retirement and investment services. Her main focus at MV Financial is its retirement plan services. Her additional areas of interest and expertise includes group health insurance and individual investment services.

Andrea also worked for many years in the managed care and medical industries, having served as head of managed care for a federal health plan as well as holding senior account executive positions with several managed care companies. Her background includes medical consulting and cancer research.

Andrea is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management, HR Leadership Forum, Human Resource Association of the National Capital Area, Montgomery County SHRM, and American Society of Association Executives. For several years she also founded and ran a forum for senior HR professionals, assisting them in learning and sharing industry best practices. She is dedicated to helping employers and employees achieve optimal and cost-efficient financial and insurance services.

Andrea received her Bachelors degree in biology from the University of Rochester. She is also a graduate of the prestigious Bronx High School of Science in New York City.
